So, I phoned him and asked if he could give me some details about his childhood or differences between my and his life.
Of course he wondered why I wanted to know all this and I explained him the journey to Estland and the topic: WALKING IN MY GRANDPA SHOES
Then I was really surprised about his answer:
“Well, I think there are really great differences between your and my life. Everything was different!!! When I was a child, teen, adult however a lot of things have also changed in the way of living as a grandpa.
I remember, when I was a child a normal grandpa was reading books, helped in the garden and his wife was playing with the small children or was cooking for the whole family.
Today the typical picture of a grandpa/ma life has completely changed.
Women and men at the age of 60/70 go to fitness, make journeys to South Africa or they are searching for a new love in special catt-channels…”
Yes, so my grandfather told me differences about his and my time however not about the children but about the grandparents…
